This morning I saw the farm store had put up a fall display with pumpkins and bales of straw. Apple cider and ornamental corn ears completed the forecourt of the store. I also noted that the upper midwest was experiencing its' first snow storm of the season. Shorter day lengths and cooler temperatures are what fuel the wonderful fall colors in the trees and in many areas this colorful season is well on the way. For viewing the colors at their peak, check the local newspapers or the Weather Channel. By mid October the heat has departed from all but the deepest south and mountainsides across the country will be colored with reds and oranges. So take a trip to see them and enjoy a walk in the brisk autumnal air.
